Yes, Universal Orlando Resort does provide accommodations for guests with disabilities. Please read below for more information or download our Guide for Safety and Accessibility (Universal Epic Universe, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure; Volcano Bay) for complete details.
- Cognitive Disabilities: Universal Orlando Resort's theme parks may provide challenges to guests with certain cognitive disabilities. The Sensory Guide for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities has been created so that these guests and their families can enjoy their time with us comfortably and safely.
- Hearing Disabilities: Universal Orlando offers open captioning queue monitors, show scripts at select live shows and assistive listening devices at select attractions. In addition, interpreting services in American Sign Language are available for select in-park live shows. Guests interested in using these services should email their request to SignLanguageServices@universalorlando.com a minimum of 14 days prior to their visit. Guests can read more information about this in our Guide to Safety & Accessibility (Universal Epic Universe, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure; Volcano Bay).
- Vision Disabilities: The Guide for Rider Safety and Accessibility (Universal Epic Universe, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure; Volcano Bay) is available in large print and Braille at Guest Services in Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Universal Epic Universe. Plus, large print and Braille scripts outlining the dialogue for select in-park live action shows are available for loan inside select locations at Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Epic Universe. Learn more about accommodations for Guests with vision disabilities.
- Mobility Services: Universal Orlando's shopping and dining facilities, attraction queues and certain attractions are wheelchair accessible, and an IBCCES Individual Accessibility Card (IAC) is not required to access them while in a mobility device. Guest can read more information on this in our Guide for Rider Safety and Accessibility (Universal Epic Universe, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure; Volcano Bay).
You can register for the free IBCCES Accessibility Card (IAC) online at AccessibilityCard.org or via its free mobile app found either on the Apple and Google Play stores. We recommend you register for your IAC within 30 days of your visit to the park and at least 48 hours before your planned visit to Universal Orlando Resort. If you are unable to register in advance, you may contact a Universal Destinations and Experiences Guest Accessibility Team Member at (407) 224-4233 or visit any Guest Services location at the theme parks for additional information.
The IAC requires the following information to register the person needing an attraction queue accommodation:
- Recent photograph of the cardholder for identification purposes
- Contact information for the cardholder or the parent/guardian/support person of the cardholder
- Contact information and statement from medical provider, government entity or other entity related to accommodations requested
The IAC does not guarantee a specific queue accommodation at Universal Orlando Resort. Once all requirements for IBCCES Individual Accessibility Card are met, a Universal Destinations and Experiences Guest Accessibility Team Member will contact the cardholder to discuss their request for an attraction queue accommodation prior to their park visit.
Once all requirements for an IAC are met, a Universal Destinations and Experiences Guest Accessibility Team Member will contact the cardholder to discuss their request for an attraction queue accommodation and, if applicable, set up their AAP in our Universal Orlando Resort App. Note, an IAC does not guarantee a Guest will receive a specific queue accommodation. Guests who are unable to register in advance may contact Universal Destinations and Experiences Guest Accessibility Team at (407) 224-4233 or visit any Guest Services location at the theme parks for additional information.
The Attractions Assistance Pass (AAP) is an accommodation offered for Guests whose disability prevents them from waiting for extended periods in an attraction queue environment. The AAP offers equal queue access to theme park attractions and is not to bypass other Guests waiting in the attraction queue. The AAP has been digitised for convenience and provides Guests with the ability to select their own digital return time.
The AAP is now integrated through the Universal Orlando Resort App, giving guests with a valid AAP the opportunity to receive their own return time directly in the Universal Orlando Resort App.
Following a conversation with our Universal Destinations and Experiences Guest Accessibility Team, Guests whose disability prevents them from waiting for extended periods in an attraction queue environment may be issued an AAP. Please note that having an IAC does not guarantee specific attraction queue accommodations at Universal Orlando Resort, including the AAP.
Guests can use their AAP via the Universal Orlando Resort App at participating attractions at Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Epic Universe. Guests visiting Universal Volcano Bay must visit Guest Services upon arrival. Then they can use their AAP via the Universal Orlando Resort App or a designated AAP wristband provided by Guest Services. The use of an AAP may not be available during special events and is subject to change without notice.
Here are the steps to secure a return time for your digital AAP through the Universal Orlando Resort App once signed in:

After entering the park the attraction is in, you can select it from the list of attractions in the Eligible Attractions tab. Once selected, you will be taken to the attraction details page where you will be able to get a return time by selecting the Attraction Assistance Pass (AAP) button.

Receive Your Return Time
A return time will be provided based on the attraction's current posted wait time.

Physical AAPs are available for Guests who don't have access to a Universal Account, the Universal Orlando Resort App or who don't wish to use their AAP digitally. Guests will receive a physical AAP upon enrolment and will continue to present their AAP to an attraction greeter for a designated return time. Team Members will verify eligibility by scanning the Guest's park ticket and determine a return time for the Guest and their party. Upon returning, Guests can either use Photo Validation or scan their park ticket for redemption.
QR codes generated for Guests and their Companion Party Members with an AAP return time can only be found on the AAP Holder's Universal Account in the Universal Orlando Resort App, or in the case of a minor, the person managing their Universal Account.
Yes, AAP return times are available for participating shows. Guests will receive a return time that is 20 minutes before the next available showtime. Please note that AAP access may not be available for shows during special ticketed events.
