Universal Orlando® Resort
The best vacation ever! With a little help from us.

At Universal Orlando® Resort, we're here to help you leave the stresses of family travel behind and make the most of your time with us. We've gladly compiled an extensive list of suggestions and information to help you sit back, relax, and enjoy the rides with your little ones.

Helpful Travel Tips

We know how much fun the theme parks are with small children. We’re also quite aware of the challenges that can be presented to both parent and child. The following is a comprehensive guide to help avoid any possible struggles and ensure a great time for everyone.

  • Changing time? You’ll be happy to find conveniently located diaper changing stations in many of the men’s and ladies' restrooms in both Universal Orlando theme parks.
  • Someone get a "boo-boo?" Our first-aid locations at the front of each theme park feature a nursing station for guest comfort and privacy.
  • Don’t forget the snacks! Remember to bring fruit, raisins, crackers, or small containers of dry cereal for the little ones to munch on when they get hungry or cranky.
  • Stroll around! We provide single or double strollers for rent upon entering each theme park. You are also permitted to bring your own stroller if you find it more convenient.
  • Take a break. Be sure to get your rest throughout the day and keep the little ones in shade as much as possible. Apply sunscreen often and liberally.
  • Children under 3 get in free! There is no admission fee for children under 3 years of age. You'll find a number of unique children’s play areas in both theme parks, including If I Ran the Zoo™, Me Ship the OliveSMand Camp Jurassic® in Universal's Islands of Adventure®, and Fievel's Playland® and Curious George Goes to Town™ in Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone® at Universal Studios®. Some of these attractions include fountains and water play, and your children may get quite wet. Be sure to bring bathing suites and/or a change of clothing so they can cool off in the water. Simply rent a locker at one of our many rental stations if you don’t wish to carry the clothes around all day.
  • Meet up! No one likes being lost. Pick an easy-to-find and recognizable meeting place to gather at if your children become lost or separated from you (Guest Services at the front of the parks is a good place). Make sure they know how to get there.
  • Getting you know you. Your children should also be carrying contact information including a name and phone number should they become lost in the park. Be sure it is placed where it won't rub off and that your child knows its there so a Universal team member can safely return your child to you.
  • Sit out then swap. If your kids are too small or unwilling to go on a particular ride you want to experience, please take advantage of our "child swap" program. Each ride and attraction has a child swap area where one member of your party can wait with the little ones while the rest of your party rides. Once they are off the ride, swap places and whoever rode can stay with the kids while the adult(s) who sat out get the opportunity to enjoy the ride.
  • It's your vacation too. Feel free to take a break from toddler time. Each of the three on-site hotels at Universal Orlando® Resort have a supervised children’s activity center where kids can be dropped off in a safe, monitored environment while mom and dad enjoy a few hours out. The activity centers are open every evening and offer movies, games, arts & crafts, computer games and more for kids ages 4 - 14. There is a fee and advance reservations are suggested. Please note that this service is only available to hotel guests.
